BIO

JOSEPH VRANAS is an award-winning composer of concert and film music, having works performed across the United States and internationally, in Venezuela and France. Many of Mr. Vranas’ multimedia compositions have premiered on screen at the Cannes Film Festival and his music has been recognized through competitions in concert, film, and theatre music in cities such as Houston and Los Angeles. Inspired by ballet, Vranas’ music often incorporates dance elements and colorful orchestration.

Currently, Joseph conducts the youth  and string orchestra with the Saturday Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles and has directed various chamber and new music ensembles including the Old Main Brass Choir, the Eugene Contemporary Chamber Ensemble (ECCE), and the Pacific Artists Collective (PAC). As an educator, Vranas currently works as an assistant director with the Bell High School band in Bell, CA and teaches private instruction and course lectures in Composition, Music Theory, Film Music, and Trumpet in the Los Angeles area. Joseph holds as a Masters in Composition and a Masters in Trumpet Performance from the University of Oregon and previously studied Composition and Music Education at Sam Houston State University.
